Afternoon musings from a sunlit cafe on a gorgeous Shanghai autumn. As I try to put my mind to the now seemingly perpetual task of sorting out my next plan, next roof over my head, next job, next flight, it struck me that I've completely missed Diwali, or Deepavali - a major Hindu festival of lights that's also much celebrated in Singapore. Then came another mental reminder of "I don't have a home anymore". Though now this thought no longer drives me into a state of repressed panic, but more as a moment to pause and reflect. I've been on the road for almost a year now, from Asia to Europe and back to Asia...many big lessons and bigger insights, wonderful teachers who show me magic in even the darkest places. People I met a month before seem like a lifetime ago, places I went to 2 weeks ago seem to be in another galaxy.
Travelling makes life happen quickly in slow motion, or is it the other way round? During yoga practice today, I ask again for clarity. In the life that I've chosen as my present path, may I have the courage to always be true, the faith to see everything as it is, and the clarity to keep my dreams alive. A late happy Diwali to everyone. May the light keep shining through the tree of life. ♥ |
