Yoga Therapy in Bodywork Applications
Yoga Therapy in Bodywork Applications
Think of the body, not as a mechanistic machine, but rather as a system of intelligence”
~ Dr. John E Upledger (Upledger Institute of Craniosacral Therapy)
A yoga therapy intensive, explore healing tools for our physical and energetic mind-body through the application of hands-on bodywork. Daphne will facilitate movement, breathwork, somatic exploration with the application of alignment, functional & em bodied anatomy, as well as classical yogic texts on the subtle body to uncover the various aspects of yoga as therapy.
Mindfulness, compassion, and deep listening will create a deeply nurturing therapeutic relationship through the art of touch. The hands-on work will be one that honours both the carer and the receiver in an intuitive dance of exploration and inner healing.
This will be an immersion for those who would like to experience the intricate expressions of therapeutic yoga for transformation and healing. We will look into conditions such as -
Spinal issues and back pain
Lower back pain and related causes such as sciatica / herniated discs
The Psoas as an expression of our core essence
Injuries & the fascia network
Understanding our nervous system and dealing with stress
Managing digestive issues
You will be able to apply these tools for teaching yoga or movement, self-care, or in offering bodywork to support your clients and your loved ones.
A certificate of completion will be presented for further credit to a Yoga Alliance RYS 200 certification or Continuing Education Units (CEU) for yoga teachers.
