Therapeutic Yoga & Somatics
"Daphne's love of the human body, somatics, and yoga are clear and contagious! I learn something new every time I take a class with Daphne and have so much fun exploring my body and movement. I appreciate Daphne for helping me listen to the felt sense of connectedness in my body. I'm grateful for the space Daphne holds for me to remember that I am already perfectly whole."
~ Tysza Gandha, Consultant, Singapore
"I've finished Daphne's 100hr embodiment training half a year ago, and I'm still feeling the profound changes in my on-the-mat and off-the-mat practice until today! Her inquiry-based approach on deep sensing and awareness is such a contemporary and important approach rising above the many yoga schools that are constantly popping up today.
The 2 weeks of her YTT training offered so much more than just cognitive and experiential knowledge of anatomy and asanas, but transformed my deepest sense of awareness in my body. I left feeling like a newborn who never tasted the true feeling of motion, and of being alive and conscious in and of my body. I keep walking, moving and dancing with a sense of pleasure and joy brought about by the awareness and perception of my body as fluid, gentle and a well integrated unit. Keeping in mind Daphne's first and last question "What is embodiment to you?" and constantly developing new answers to it :)
I can't wait for her next training and I highly recommend her to everybody who's interested in sculpting their yoga from within!"
~ Lucie Krobova, Dancer & Dance Teacher, Amsterdam
"I finished 80 hours embodiment and bodywork immersion with Daphne in July 2019. What I've observed, in my own body and what I've learned, the knowledge in my head is still very much simmering even though it's been 6 months since the immersion ended. What I know is that my heart is so full and so alive. I am deeply grateful to be able to meet and train with Daphne and to spend a special week with 6 other ladies. Daphne teaches with authenticity, kindness and love. She possesses immense understanding and knowledge about human anatomy and she makes it so fun to learn such a seemingly dry topic. She taught me how to look at my body, my being and my movement in a radically different way. She taught me how movement can be so unique and embodiment is very much an ongoing, lively interaction between what is inside us and that surrounds us. She made it safe for me to venture into bodywork when I came from a space of hesitance towards touch therapy. I am looking forward to more time learning with and from Daphne, a fellow wild spirited sister!"
~ Yoke Wen, Psychologist & Yoga Teacher
I've just finished the 80-hour-embodiment and bodywork TT by Daphne. And I'm so grateful to have the chance to meeting her and fellow classmates who are so friendly, authentic, and talented... We shared with deep listening, we danced, moved and laughed like a child, we cried with each other...
Every class is meaningful and interesting - one in which Daphne and Lucy created many effective ways to transmit knowledge and wisdom. I never knew that studying anatomy can be so creative and applicable with a practice like that.
I have learnt one very important aspect of the human body that is fascia. It radically changes my perspective in how to improve body and mind wellness, awareness. It's so important to remind ourselves to be BEING rather than DOING again and again...
Daphne held her classes with respect, rituals, peace - which inspires me greatly on my yoga journey of self-practicing, self-studying and sharing.
~Thuy Le, Yoga teacher and studio owner, Vietnam
"Daphne's embodiment and immersion retreat had me seeing the true state of my humanity - a difficult time, yet arriving at a return to central love. If you are seeking truth in your existence you will find what you are looking for in the realm created by Daphne's course."
~ Geoff Nichols, Poet, Australia
"I can’t get enough of Daphne! I recently completed her 100 hour embodiment and bodywork Teacher training in Chiang Mai. Daphne brings something completely new to the table in her yoga offering. Her knowledge of anatomy, developmental patterns and somatic movement is incredible. For me, experiencing yoga from this embodiment approach was illuminating and refreshing. Her self inquiry style of teaching supports students to dive deep into their own bodymind to experience and embody their learning process; rather than being told what to do or how to feel. It’s an empowering approach. Daphne is full of humility and authenticity. I really connected to her teachings and she held the space for a diverse group so beautifully. I encourage anyone (yogi or non yogi like me) to delve into some exploration with Daphne and unlock new layers of bodymind awareness. Thank you Daphne! I have taken away so much from your thoughtfully crafted immersion"
~ Natalia Padgen, Therapist, Singapore
"My heart is filling with gratitude to be able to experience the Therapy & Bodywork 50-hour teacher training in Luang Prabang with Daphne. The training allowed us to dive deep into "Movement, Inquiry and Embodiment". A subtle yet profound pathway to make space for our body and mind - harvesting these innate energy and qualities, and move in synergy with our body. Thank you Daphne!"
~ Lana Yang, Yoga Teacher, Cambodia
"My experience from the immersion was eye-opening. Over the past years, I knew that I was not doing something right, but could not figure out what it was. Daphne identified the specific misalignments in my body and guide me into finding them. She articulated very well in how bodies are supposed to move, what habits to maintain to keep the body healthy. I can already feel that my musculoskeletal structure changing and my joints are better aligned. Before the course, I used my body parts to do Yoga, trying to fit my body into the asanas. Now I am using Yoga to keep my body aligned, with healthier and better positioning for the different part of my body. I have had many issues with tilted pubic bones, twisted spine, knee pain and feet pain, but they are now better with the right exercises. They also brought me a positive effects for non-yoga activities. I enjoy occasional social dancing, and when I went to a practice, I can feel that my posture has improved, and my body and legs are not as tired and aching as before. I believe that continuous practice, awareness and mindfulness are the key. All the best and thanks again for your insights and dedication.” ~Yoko Yamoto, NGO worker, Japan
SHE is like an older sister to me, the same blood kind. Sharing the same fire within that sparks when something geeky pops up on the horizon of (spiral) movement, (spiral) body or (spiral) philosophy. Always happy to share, always happy to play and to explore. Up for being crazy...or curious? Crazily curious! Just like me....
Yet She is so knowledgeable and compassionate. With huge wisdom of experience and openness to not knowing, dedicated to learn and seek the truth. She's my teacher, my inspiration and my mentor. Supporting me and sharing honest feedback to constructively aid my growth. 🙏
I'm full of gratitude and love for you Daphne! Thank you for inviting me to share my crazy curiosity with your students. Assisting you on #movingfromwithin19 has been a huge milestone for me as a facilitator and unforgettable experience as a human..
~ Lucie Krobová, Yoga & dance teacher & assistant facilitator
"I am so glad to join my first teacher training with Daphne. She is a marvellous teacher and has deep profound knowledge about the history, philosophy, culture, spirituality of yoga and movement. I would definitely like to join her teacher training again next year!"
- Tiffany Sim, Engineer, Malaysia
"Daphne is extremely knowledgeable on anatomy, and also helped elevate my understanding of yoga therapy with new perspectives that are rooted in physiology. She taught many useful techniques to help release and relax the body, which I still use today in my teaching. Highly rated!"
~ Cheryl Cheong, Yoga Teacher, Singapore
"I acquired a great deal of knowledge in a great location! Daphne is extremely knowledgeable, and she is great about sharing this knowledge in a fun and easy to grasp way. It was the perfect length of time and the training was taught with a positive and dynamic energy. I would love to learn more from her in the future! And the location - Mala Dara - was gorgeous! Thanks Daphne for including me in the training! Look forward to seeing what comes up next!"

"Daphne saved my back!
I met Daphne when she was supporting a training I was attending in February. Daphne came to my rescue on day 3 of a 15 day training. Unfortunately due to a recent injury to my SI joint (3 months prior) and an ill-timed adjustment by another trainer, my still fragile sacroiliac joint had again been over stretched. Daphne, seeing my distress and pain, offered to help, she was so gentle, supportive and understanding of my situation. She took the time to explore the injury and provide a "gentle" massage which with her advice, suggestions and hands that seemed to magically find and soothe the injured area provided me the opportunity to finish my training with little discomfort. Daphne is a natural in the heart of yoga, she clearly loves what she does and in turn gives confidence and support to those that train with her."
- Lori Kelley, Independent sonographer, UK
"Daphne is a gem and if you have been looking to work with an experienced highly effective yoga teacher, Daphne's yoga therapeutics is amazing. I went on her retreat last summer in Laos, the place is breathtakingly beautiful, the group was fabulous and Daphne was, as always, so generous with her time, attention and dedication.
- Nadja Vartany, Yoga teacher, Singapore
"... when it started, it just flowed, like water, the sense of fluidity you brought in your wonderful classes. Blessed that we met 💙 " ~ Dinh Nu Thuy Trang, Yoga Teacher, Vietnam
"It was an amazing week in the beautiful sleepy little town of Nong Khiaw, Laos. Thank you Daphne, the invited teachers and all the other participants for the open heart and mind, the love and generosity of sharing experiences. A wonderful blend of yoga practice, meditation, bodywork, contact improvisation, seva. Inspiring group of incredible women all of each on their own path guided by their hearts. A true feeling of connection. Meeting these likeminded people gave me that sense of oneness, that many times is lost in daily life." ~ Ana Moreira de Silva, Portugal
"Daphne is one of the most talented, articulate, loving yoga teachers I have ever met. I highly recommend any training that she is doing"

"Last week I had the opportunity to host and translate the amazing sessions led by Daphne. We spent the whole time just sensing our pelvc floor works and the subtle effects of breath and movement. Only until the moment we allow our bodies laying on the ground, we realise how hard it is to surrender and how much we are stuck in our head. If you expect to quick fixes and big visceral "highs", then Daphne classes are not for you. We are constantly stimulated by external input in our daily life. It requires quiet strength to focus, in order for us to withdraw and drop into our inner sense. Being with Daphne the whole weekend, I felt like I was walking in the clouds, as If i was mirroring her and her energy. When she walked, I walked. When she talked I talked. When she closed her eyes, i did mine too. When she touched other bodies, I felt the touch. During some last moments I couldn't wait for everyone to open their eyes and turn to Daphne... and say, its a wonderful meditation!" ~ Trang, Translator, Vietnam
I’ve heard a lot about Somatic Yoga and Embodiment, but hadn’t had a chance to experience it until Daphne’s course this July. Even though I’ve already been a teacher of Yoga for several years and have completed many trainings in various styles of Yoga, I was able to take many lessons from the course. Daphne’s knowledge is vast. Some of the many amazing things I learned were: how to feel the body while moving within our space, the sensations that come with movements, the relationship of our body with our breath, how to experience our environment and feel the connection between different parts of our body through very simple but dynamic movements. There were many moments during the course in which I was feeling revelations arising to answer deep personal questions.
The ‘Bodywork module of the training was particularly interesting. With graceful movement and subtle touches to the body, it was surprising to see how quickly we could observe changes physically, to the nervous system, and to the state of Mind.
The anatomy class was my favorite each day because of Daphne’s creative ways of teaching this topic, through everyday subjects and objects, our lifestyle, and many different props so we could experience and embody! She was able to make everything simple and easy to understand. The lessons were also reviewed in classes at night time. We played games and share our experiences together, and they made me laugh and sometimes moved me to tears.
I was lucky to explore MalaDhara- an eco resort in the countryside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The food was so delicious and varied. It’s also a peaceful place to visit if you are seeking fresh air and nature. And if you’re interested in embodiment, connection, relationships, then this course would be highly beneficial. I fully recommend it!

"It was a full house and a beautiful one! Thank you so much Daphne for the beautiful workshop you gave us! 2 hours flew by and we were left wanting more and more and yet you gave us enough tools to set us on our way with more confidence and insight. Your energy, love and attention were true gifts and we can't wait for your next visit."

"Daphne's class has changed my perception of yoga, it's not just a physical fitness journey but a deeper self discovery that helped me find my real satisfaction in life, simplicity and balance, Namaste."
- Mabelle Oliveros, Fisher & Paykel, New Zealand
"Before joining Daphne's classes, I was very disappointed with the yoga classes I attended in Ho Chi Minh City. Most yoga centers are very impersonal seem like money-making machines. Daphne is one yoga teacher I’ve met who makes me love and enjoy yoga. She creates an atmosphere that is more than just exercising. I always have a good time in each of her classes. She is in absolute grace when she demonstrates postures and it is beautiful to watch her move. Most importantly, Daphne ensures that the classes are for everyone. Her instructions are very clear and useful so that we don’t hurt ourselves. It’s not only about practising, Daphne is dedicated to the students and gives personalized attention during the class. She explains clearly the intentions and objectives of each move and we also get the chance to learn more about yoga philosophy. After each class, I feel great and strong and I am always looking forward for the next class. To top it off, Daphne is a wonderful person, always enthusiastic and positive and has a kind heart."
- Caroline Nguyen, Teacher, RMIT University, Vietnam
"Daphne’s yoga classes are not ordinary – she helps you approach yoga in a holistic way, with a focus on both the body and the mind. I really enjoy her classes because they are intimate. There is spiritual food for your mind, a bit of Thai massage and some fun elements as well. Yoga is never boring with Daphne
- Jis Kuruvilla, Teacher, RMIT University, Vietnam
"Every week I eagerly look forward to yoga classes with Daphne. What I enjoy the most about Daphne’s session is that it is not a mass produced-one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. Each session feels very personal and tailor made for the group. She explains what the session is about and what we can get out of it. I enjoy these conversations because it helps me to understand what we do and more importantly why we do it. I have learnt so much about my body and how to activate the energies that it can create. I also love it that she tells each student to listen to their own bodies and encourages us to do all we can within the boundaries our body can handle. I never feel like I’m not flexible enough or that I need to be as good as the other student since that’s not her objective at all. There is also an element of fun and surprise in all her sessions (whether it’s a Thai massage technique or using towels to strengthen our core), which keeps us all guessing, excited and always looking forward to the next class. Learning yoga with Daphne has been a wonderful experience and I definitely look forward to more sessions with her in the future."
- Arlene Tuang, Teacher, RMIT University, Saigon
"After Daphne's yoga classes, I always feel peaceful and my mind is quiet, but at the same time my body has been pushed to places it needs to go."
- Lisa Cuthbertson, Teacher, Saigon South International School, Saigon
"I so miss yoga with Daphne. She was the best yoga teacher I have ever had. She makes classes challenging but fun and I was always amazed at what I was able to do with my body with her support and guidance."
- Sasha Stubbs, Teacher, Australia
"Even though I only got to take a few of your classes, your teachings left a lasting impression and I am grateful I got to tap in to your beautiful sharing. I'm now working more on working less. So glad I had your restorative class back on Christmas Eve a few years back. It was such a lovely practice!"
- Jessica Zartler, Digital Nomad
Bodywork
"I saw Daphne for a back injury. Her methods were holistic in nature as she worked on my legs and spine to make sure everything is in alignment. She was patient and gentle with her touch. Always checking in with me to make sure I’m okay during the adjustments. She also gave me tips to help myself after our session to strengthen the muscles that are “asleep” so that my condition doesn’t come back. After 5 days of resting and doing the exercises she recommended, I recovered completely and felt even better than before I saw her. I feel my movements more symmetrical and no strain in my back at all. Highly recommend Daphne to people who are suffering from structural issues like I did!" ~ Sharon Tan, Wellness Practitioner
"What I love about Daphne? Daphne treats with kindness and curiosity. She has a wonderful collection of therapies to draw on when you take a session with her. She is a wonderful soul and I will always recommend her to others looking for treatment on their physical body.I’ve had the privilege of taking a few sessions with Daphne. The first time round in 2017 was after knee surgery, and she helped me re-align my body, remove some tension and put together a yoga sequence suitable to my condition - one that I could practice at home. Just recently I met with Daphne after recovering from a viral infection and also with a chronic cough. After 2.5 hours with Daphne my body felt lighter, and I could feel the difference. I highly recommend Daphne! If you’re lucky enough to be located where Daphne visits... go ahead a book an appointment.
~ Tammy Wade, Yoga Teacher & Swimming Coach
"I have always been a very active person, enjoying competitive sporting activities and have found yoga to be a great physical and mental compliment to these. Recently, a series of injuries had me rethink the balance of activities I pursue and led me to seek advice on both prevention as well as hopeful correction. Calming and professional, Daphne was immediately sensitive to my situation, taking time to understand the nature of my injuries and my goals from receiving treatment. Through a series of both active and passive postures Daphne provided hands-on treatment identifying areas of weakness, as well as constructive suggestions on prevention. The session left me relaxed and refreshed with an understanding for how to incorporate simple yet effective changes into my daily routine. I look forward to when Daphne is back in town."
- Nigel Sumner, Lucas Arts, Singapore
"I heard about Daphne flying into Singapore from a friend who said I should book some time with her. I was suffering from a lot of back pain at the time. After a bodywork/massage session with Daphne the back pain disappeared and has not come back to haunt me. It was a very relaxing experience that helped me a lot, and I would highly recommend Daphne's time to anyone thinking about receiving a bodywork/massage session."
- Rikki Knight-Trembath, Lucas Arts, Singapore
"Daphne's bodywork is a wonderful combination of intuition and skill. Her healing hands will work out any knots while the stretches leave you feeling relaxed and loose."
- Ann Shea, Teacher, Saigon South International School, Vietnam
"After a session with Daphne, I could notice the difference in my body during my yoga practice. It is almost like the massage helped to teach my body how it should be."

"Even though I only got to take a few of your classes, your teachings left a lasting impression and I am grateful I got to tap in to your beautiful sharing. I'm now working more on working less. So glad I had your restorative class back on Christmas Eve a few years back. It was such a lovely practice!"
