"It's not where you go, it's who you meet!" ~ Anonymous
A year ago this time, I had already started my travels in Europe. I crossed the borders of Italy, Romania, Netherlands, England, France & Spain, taking a shot at teaching internationally and immersing in the rich cultures and history of this western continent . Being from a little British colonial city-state in Southeast Asia, I have always been fascinated by the so-called western civillisation and its contrast with the east. And then there is also the wondrous landscape, the changing seasons, the palatable pleasures, and the cross cultural interactions and hospitality that I've had the good fortune to receive.. they have all been life changing experiences that have allowed me to grow as a student and a teacher. I feel deeply privileged that I could follow my restless heart, and at the same time share my passion for yoga and life! However... as the Universe has always been fond of throwing curve balls my way, my heart has now found its way back to Asia. It has since brought me many other surprises with the new perspective that I've gained the last year. And mostly, it bombarded me with a truckload of heart-shaped curve balls!! Which brings me to share a little personal/professional update on my end... After a year and a half of incredulous, eye opening, mind blowing, ego humbling, mouth watering travels, I'll be laying down some roots in Chiang Mai, Thailand (in July), to begin another phase of this lifelong journey of learning, living and loving. I'll post updates of my Summer to Autumn schedule so look out for them if you're in the hood of the Mai! I'll also still be guest teaching and offering bodywork treatments around the region, so please look out for my events on Facebook or my website. And if you would like to host me at a playground near you, I will be much obliged to consider too! :) In love, Daphne |
